ABRSM Branding

A Music Icon Reimagined

In 2022, The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) selected Everything Connected to lead them through a brand refresh exercise, ahead of a review and relaunch of their website.

The Challenge

Eleanor Hampton, Director of Marketing & Communications said, “We knew we’d need to work with a team that could help us to balance our heritage with our ambition to be more confident, more inclusive and to bring music back into our brand. We chose Everything Connected because we felt they’d challenge us to be bolder and more creative. What we hadn’t expected was to find a genuinely collaborative partnership”.

A Multi-Award-Winning Partnership

We knew that such a prestigious organisation deserved our very best work. Our partnership with ABRSM has received multiple awards for both our work on their brand and their new website. Awards include a commendation award from the prestigious World Brand Design Society, not one but two, Br awards from the International Design Awards in the categories of ‘Brand Identity’ and ‘Multimedia Website Design’ as well as a highly coveted Web Excellence Award.

A Life With Music

We had a duty to respect the history and legacy of such an iconic organisation as well as being able to push the brand forward and ensure that it reached out and inspired more people to learn music. The new brand strapline ‘A Life With Music’ talks to their broader role in music.

In 2022 we conducted research with a range of UK based and international learners, teachers and parents and it was clear that our brand was feeling out of date and that the website was a cause of frustration for many. As an organisation, we’re building on our legacy for musical excellence, but we’re also evolving and we wanted to represent that in our updated brand and website.
