The House of Chanel is undoubtedly one of the world’s most iconic and enduring brands, successfully embracing new technologies whist retaining its luxury heritage. Everything–Connected were briefed to develop, build and launch a dedicated website and online boutique for Chanel’s UK eyewear collection, fitting within the brand guidelines of Chanel’s wider global online presence.

Chanel also required an ongoing content strategy to communicate new collections, brand news, keep customers engaged and returning to the site.


What we did

Everything–Connected worked closely with Chanel to deliver a new e-commerce platform. From the initial briefing and scoping, through to full site designs, back-end build and front end styling. Magento 2 was chosen as the platform to meet Chanel’s requirements. Since the site launched in January 2018, Everything–Connected have continued to develop the platform; uploading regular editorial and video content, implementing new pages and adding to the e-commerce functionality.

Editorial content

Chanel Stories

A large focus of the site is curated editorial content and the Everything–Connected team work closely with Chanel to develop an engaging editorial calendar. We write and add monthly stories to support new product lines. The site’s editorial pages feature a mix of imagery, video content and scroll motion animations, all developed in the Everything–Connected studio.

The online boutique

The store features a Permanent collection, and new Runway product lines are launched three times a year. Customers can browse the product line and purchase online, with the option to reserve and try On, collect in store, or receive their purchases at home via Concierge or next day delivery.

Alongside traditional e-commerce functionality, Virtual Try On was recently launched - allowing customers to use their device camera to 'try on' products before continuing to purchase them.


The results

Everything–Connected supported Chanel to translate their impeccable in-store experience to online, using innovative technology and editorial content. Chanel now offers UK customers the latest eyewear collections, engaging online content and numerous flexible delivery options.
